On 16 September 2022, we received the award from the Federal Environment Agency and the Federal Ministry for the Environment and Nature Conservation at the official award ceremony. Alongside 4 other projects, we were honoured with the highest state prize for climate adaptation and nature conservation.
From the letter of application, to the persistent vote-catching for the public vote, to the announcement of our honour: the whole process has moved us a lot, required a lot of energy and attracted a lot of public attention.
This recognition is a huge motivation for us to continue and shows us that we are on the right track. We are currently planning to plant 8 more Miyawaki forests this autumn.
We would like to thank you all for your support, because our organisation lives from all the people who share and support the idea.
We would also like to thank ourselves for always having the energy to stand up for a cause that is bigger than ourselves. It takes a lot of strength and perseverance.
